XInvoice is mandatory for suppliers of the federal government since 27.11.2020
and gets an update to version 2.0.0 – b.invoice supports the latest version
With the legal guidelines2014/55/EU, the government created the basis for a standardized digital invoice format with mandatory implementation. For your company this means that invoices to federal institutions must be sent in electronic form from 27.11.2020. In Germany the XInvoice is decisive for the implementation of the legal guidelines 2014/55/EU and via Peppol this is done automatically from your system to the recipient.
What is the XInvoice?
The XInvoice is a national “Core Invoice Usage Specification” (CIUS), which was developed by the Coordination Unit for IT Standards (KoSIT) on the basis of the semantic data model according to the European standardization authority CEN. EN 16931 defines the semantic data model, which was specified for the syntaxes UBL 2.1 (Universal Business Language) and CII D16B (Cross Industry Invoice), and forms the basis for all national CIUS.
The XInvoice standard is a structured, machine-readable XML invoice that has been valid in version 1.2.2 until 31 December 2020. The XInvoice in version 2.0.0 is valid from 01.01.2021. Notes and changes to version 2.0.0 can be found here.
